Work Permit (Engage in Activities not Covered by the Status of Sojourn)
Foreign students enrolled in a regular course of study may engage in part-time work of no more than 20 hours a week during the semester, and unlimited work during vacation time under the foreign student part-time work provisions of the Ministry of Justice. To gain permission to work, you should get a recommendation from your supervising professor (for a language program student, from the head of the language institute), have a study visa (D-2 or D-4), and be registered at a tertiary education institution of at least the level of a junior college (language course students with a D-4 visa should have at least six months of study completed). Money earned through part-time work should be for extra allowance and not the main source of funds supporting the student in their studies in Korea.
